Artist's Description
The singing tree
Maybe it were the memories of some old forgotten dreams that kept coming back to me or it was some fairy tale that I had heard or read when I was a little boy.
He felt as if he had been walking for hours and hours but now he was hungry and tired. All that he wanted now was to curl himself into a small little ball and go to sleep in his mother’s lap and when he awoke as always, she would be there to cuddle him and give him something to eat. There in front of him it was as if the giant tree was beckoning him with the huge branches stretched out like welcoming arms. Curling himself between the two big roots he went off to sleep while the tree sang to sleep with his favourite lullaby.

About Richard CHESTER
Artist and Printmaker After art school came to Paris in the early eighties where for 10 years worked at the well known Stanley William Hayer's printmaking studio for contemporary viscosity etchings and engravings the *Atelier 17*. Now have moved to Angers in the famous valley de Loire and have set my own indépendant atelier where I do mostly digital paintings and also developed a new technique for prints based on new media and using of the chine collé method. The latest works too are in the New Media method but without the chin collé.
