Artist's Description
The devil in that last drink
This work was inspired by what had happened the previous evening. As usual it had been a boisterous evening but with no incident to make it a memorable event. I had been among the remaining observers when 3 of the revellers had lurched out and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but it was only the next morning when a friend telephoned with the news that the car in which the 3 were traveling had an accident and 2 of the 3 passengers had been killed in the crash while the third was in the hospital in a serious condition. The graphics of the artwork have been given an ephemeral effervescence to suggest the mood of that evening whereas the colour red and the title are meant to suggest the grim results.
About Richard CHESTER
Artist and Printmaker After art school came to Paris in the early eighties where for 10 years worked at the well known Stanley William Hayer's printmaking studio for contemporary viscosity etchings and engravings the *Atelier 17*. Now have moved to Angers in the famous valley de Loire and have set my own indépendant atelier where I do mostly digital paintings and also developed a new technique for prints based on new media and using of the chine collé method. The latest works too are in the New Media method but without the chin collé.
